Role Overview

As a purveyor of intricate and unique art pieces, we seek a Director of Operations who is a master at solving complex problems. This role is crucial for maintaining the studio's efficiency, allowing our artists and engineers to concentrate on creating extraordinary art. The Director of Operations will oversee a wide range of business functions, work closely with the Founder Artist and Project Director, and customize systems and processes to foster company growth and smooth operations. The role requires interaction with diverse clients, from contractors to elite art collectors.

We require a passionate individual with a strong affinity for technology, design, and art, someone skilled in identifying inefficiencies and adept at designing effective systems for our team to utilize.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee collector support to enhance collector satisfaction.
  • Guarantee smooth sales, production, and delivery of editioned artworks.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for collectors of BREAKFAST’s work.
  • Develop and manage maintenance requests and schedules for all existing works.
  • Monitor the production process to ensure quality and adherence to timelines.
  • Proactively introduce improvements to studio processes.
  • Develop and negotiate contracts that protect the studio's interests.
  • Liaise with insurance companies for adequate coverage and risk management.
  • Handle certain aspects of finance, including bookkeeping and budgeting, to ensure financial health and compliance.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in operations, especially in tech and high-end services.
  • Experience in the growth and daily operation of a startup or small business.
  • Expertise in creating systems and SOPs.
  • Strong background in hiring and team management.
  • Proficient in project management with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • An avid interest in blending technology with art.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a small team.
  • A creative and entrepreneurial outlook, constantly seeking self and studio enhancement.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with hyper-organization and strong spreadsheet abilities.
  • A highly technical background with experience in hardware product/project development.
