The Studio

BREAKFAST is a world-renowned fine art studio with a reputation for conceiving and producing some of the most technologically advanced and unique art sculptures in the world. Our pieces have been purchased and commissioned by some of the most high-profile art collectors in the world, with works gracing the walls of Harvard University, Rockafeller Center, Tiffany & Co, and many more.

The Position

BREAKFAST is seeking a lighting specialist to help design the dynamic lighting environment around an upcoming sculpture that happens to be our largest to date. BREAKFAST has the ability to design and control the lights shining onto our piece as well as the environment surrounding it. We are looking to bring on a  designer who will work with us to craft various lighting schemes that we can transition through overtime.

Please note that the control system for these lights is Madrix.

This person will report directly to Zolty, the Co-Founder/Artist.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the artist to design approximately 20-30 lighting schemes.
  • Design and prepare lighting schemes in NYC, but be on the ground in Europe where the sculpture is located to do the final implementation. Multiple trips may be required. Travel expenses will be covered.

Experience and Skills

  • 10+ years experience in architectural, stage, and/or experiential lighting design
  • An intimate knowledge of Madrix
  • Excellent creative problem-solving skills
  • A life-long passion for technology
  • An insatiable desire to understand, use, and even create technology and art
  • A creative and entrepreneurial mindset — always looking for ways to improve themselves
  • Takes initiative in solving problems and improving processes
  • Works quickly, but accurately
