BREAKFAST is a world-renowned art collective with a reputation for conceiving, designing, and manufacturing some of the most high-tech kinetic art installations in the world. BREAKFAST’s work has found its way into various museums, lobbies, stadiums and public spaces.

The Position

BREAKFAST specializes in crafting some of the most complex and unique artworks in the world. As such, we seek highly technical problem solvers of the highest caliber. The Project Director will be the glue holding our extremely talented team together, and ultimately be responsible for ensuring smooth production and delivery of our work.

The Project Director will have their eye on all aspects of production in the studio, ensuring nothing slips through the cracks. They will have a strong love for both technology, art and design, as success will only be achieved if they have a natural desire to understand the inner workings of everything we build. They will need to be a sponge, soaking up every decision and conversation to ensure they can communicate the intentions and processes of the studio better than anyone else.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee engineering builds throughout the hardware and software development process
  • Ensure a smooth transaction, production, and delivery of all sales and commissions.
  • Act as the day-to-day representative of BREAKFAST for clients, from signing the initial docs to completion of installation.
  • Oversee the internal production process, ensuring all milestones are being met
  • Proactively seek out and propose efficiencies to get the most out of our studio
  • Be able to explain our work in great detail, down to how each piece works, their unique requirements, and what makes them special.

Experience and Skills

  • Multi-year experience helping run the daily operation of a startup/small company.
  • 10+ years of project management, production, operations experience.
  • An insatiable desire to understand, use, and create technology and art.
  • Comfort and confidence working independently and with a very small team.
  • A creative and entrepreneurial mindset — always looking for ways to improve themselves and the studio.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Hyper-organization skills.
  • Experience using project management software and developing systems.
  • Strong spreadsheet skills.
  • Highly technical background, experience with hardware products/projects
