Different but the Same is an exploration in diversity and how a shared experience can reveal similarities in how we collectively act as a species, regardless of our diverse backgrounds and cultures.
The piece is replaying through the movements of everyone who has walked to the center of the piece and interacted with it. As each person’s actions are replayed, a natural theme of playfulness and exploration becomes apparent across the array of silhouettes.
You can add your silhouette to the piece by stepping up to the center. There, you will see your reflection appear, with delayed versions of yourself cascading down to either side. The last few seconds of each interaction will be captured, becoming part of this living sculpture.
